The New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) provides financial assistance to families to help cover the cost of child care. This program is designed for parents and guardians who are working, attending school, undergoing job training, or seeking employment.
As of November 2025, New Mexico became the first state in the nation to offer universal child care, removing all income limits for families applying for child care assistance. This means families at any income level may now qualify.
